Ken's suggestions are:
1. We discuss/agree who's to be on each undone label. I'm
making a point
of not learning details of the end of S and Stars; you may have more
definite opinions there.
2. You (and any friends/delegates you care to dragoon) find some good images
of that character. More on images below.
3. I remove backgrounds and extraneous items from the image, and produce the
label.
4. Only VKLL's tapes are subject to this. I'll continue to do my own
selections of the rest of the Chikashitsu labels.
WHAT MAKES AN IMAGE GOOD
The idea is to find two "portraits" of that character, ideally showing them in
two different moods that distinguish the character. One for the face, one for the spine.
Avoid silly expressions or poses -- IMO they don't work when used this way. Dramatic poses
work really well.
As a portrait, it should display the head and shoulders of the character. Usually it's
better to crop the body on the label, unless there is some key prop in the picture;
otherwise the character's face and expression become too small on the label. You'll be
surprised how few images are of this type -- the anime artists generally draw either full
body shots or just the face.
Backgrounds, either people or objects, don't matter. I can remove those. I can also fill
in smaller spots where the character's body is hidden by something, or add hair and limbs
that are cropped in the image.
The higher quality the better. If its a badly miscolored video capture someone made,
I can do a lot with it, but it will never look really good.
I don't want to be accused of "stealing from xxx's Web page". If in doubt we can
write to ask. Particulary for video captures of obscure characters, the Web page author
may have a larger image off the Web page anyway.
I'll be the judge of the "best" submissions.
WHO'S ON WHAT LABEL?
Pretty obviously, I don't want to change the ones I've already done, and I have strong
opinions on the choices for eps 1-72. For all others, I'm quite open to alternate
suggestions, particularly for S where there really aren't enough characters to go around.
